Their official name is The New York Knickerbockers, but most people, fans and foes alike call them the Knicks. They compete in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference of the NBA. Throughout the decades, the Knicks have had their ups and downs as far as success goes. They were successful in their early years of the 1940s and 1950s and were always contenders for that year’s playoffs. In the 1970s and 1980s, they had mixed success. In the 1990s they were dominant being led by Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing against their fierce rivals of the Chicago Bulls, the Indiana Pacers, and the Miami Heat. The Knicks have struggled in past years, with their last Division Title having been won in the 2012-2013 NBA season.
