The Houston Astros are a professional baseball team in Major League Baseball (MLB) based in Houston, Texas. The Astros compete in the American League (AL) West division along with the Los Angeles Angels, Oakland Athletics, Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers. Their main rivalry outside of their division is with their interstate neighbor, the Texas Rangers. The team plays its home games at Minute Maid Park in Houston.
Minute Maid Park opened in 2000 as the Ballpark at Union Station and has also been known as The Juice Box, Enron Field and as Astros Field. The ballpark is a retractable-roofed stadium, with a capacity of 41,168. Besides the Astros, it has also hosted International Soccer Matches such as the CONCACAF Champions’ Cup and major concert such as Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and Jay-Z.
Houston is knows for perfecting all different kinds of foods. Must go’s include Chicken-fried steak at Frank’s Americana Revival, Kolache at The Original Kolache Shoppe, Chile con queso at Beaver’s Ice House, Fajitas at The Original Ninfa’s and Barbecue brisket at Killen’s Barbecue.
