The Texas Rangers are a professional baseball team in Major League Baseball (MLB) based in Arlington, Texas. The Rangers compete in the American League (AL) West division along with the Houston Astros, Los Angeles Angels, Oakland Athletics and Seattle Mariners. The team plays its home games at Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex.
Globe Life Park in Arlington opened in 1994 as The Ballpark in Arlington and has also been known as Ameriquest Field in Arlington, and Rangers Park in Arlington. The stadium is open air and has a capacity of 48,114. Besides the Rangers, it has also hosted International Soccer Matches such as the International Champions Cup and major concerts such as Billy Joel, Jason Aldean and Paul McCartney.
