The Washington Nationals are a professional baseball team in Major League Baseball (MLB) based in Washington, DC. The Phillies compete in the National League (NL) East division along with the Atlanta Braves, Florida Marlins, New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies. The team plays its home games at Nationals Park in Washington, DC.
Nationals Park opened in 2008. The ballpark is open air with a capacity of 41,339. Besides the Mets it has also hosted the MLB All-Star Game, the NHL Winter Classic, a Papal Mass with Pope Benedict XVI and major concerts including Billy Joel, Taylor Swift, and Paul McCartney.
Washington, DC has a great food scene. Half Smokes (Half pork/half beef sausages) were invented in DC. The best are at Ben’s Chili Bowl which has been around since 1958. Also, DC is known for its Ethiopian food. Many Ethiopian restaurants can be found in the U Street Corridor along 9th street.
