Competing in Major League Baseball’s National League West Division, the hard-hitting Colorado Rockies are a professional baseball team based in Denver, Colorado. The Rockies started playing as an expansion team in 1993. They have qualified for post-season play 5 times as Wild Card winners. Each season the Rockies compete against their rivals including; the Dodgers, the Diamondbacks, the Padres, the Red Sox, and the Phillies.
Located in the Lower Downtown area of Denver, the Colorado Rockies’ home stadium is Coors Field. Opened in 1993, Coors Field houses 4,526 club seats and 63 luxury suites. The 1998 Major League Baseball All-Star Game was held there. And in 2016 the National Hockey League played three outdoor hockey games in the stadium, as part of their Stadium Series. Over the past few years, many award-winning musical acts have performed at Coors Field including; The Eagles, Jimmy Buffet, Def Leppard, Journey, The Pretenders, and the Zac Brown Band.
