Based in Los Angeles, California, the Los Angeles Dodgers play MLB in the National League West Division. Founded in Brooklyn, New York in 1883, the Dodgers moved to L.A. before the 1958 season started. As a franchise, they have won 6 World Series and 23 National League pennants. Beating out their main rivals: the Cardinals, the Diamondbacks, the Padres, the Yankees, the Phillies, the Rockies, and especially their neighbors, the Los Angeles Angels.
In the Elysian Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, California sets Dodger Stadium, the home ballpark of the Dodgers. Dodger Stadium is the oldest ballpark that is west of the Mississippi River and it’s the third oldest ballpark overall. This pitcher’s ballpark’ is the world’s largest baseball stadium based on seat capacity of 56,000. This stadium hosted fans at the 1980 MLB All-Star Game and will host this event again in 2020. There have been 10 World Series Championship Games held in Dodger Stadium. During the 1984 Summer Olympics, exhibition baseball was played here and in the upcoming 2028 Summer Olympics they will once again play baseball and softball in the home of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
