The Minnesota Timberwolves are a professional basketball team in the National Basketball Association (NBA) based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Minnesota Timberwolves compete in the Western Conference Northwest Division along with Denver Nuggets, Portland Trail Blazers, Utah Jazz, and Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Minnesota Timberwolves play their home games at the Target Center in Minneapolis which was opened in 1990. For basketball games the Target Center has a capacity of 18,798. The Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome was home for them in their inaugural season in 1989-90 and the Target Center has been their home ever since. The arena has seen many major renovations over the years, with the most recent one in 2017. To keep the arena modern and up to date the renovation cost a cool $140 million. It’s also home to the WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx. In 1993-94 the arena hosted six NHL matches, and in 1994 hosted the NBA All-Star Game. Concert goers can also enjoy shows at the arena and has seen the likes of Paul McCartney, Metallica, Elton John and Billy Joel perform here.
