The Portland Trail Blazers, a.k.a. the Blazers, are a professional basketball team in the National Basketball Association (NBA) based in Portland, Oregon. The Portland Trail Blazers compete in the Western Conference Northwest Division along with Denver Nuggets, Utah Jazz, Oklahoma City Thunder and Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Portland Trail Blazers’ original home arena was the Memorial Coliseum in Portland (before changing its name to the Veterans Memorial Coliseum), but in 1995 they moved next door, to the Moda Center. The Moda Center was originally known as the Rose Garden up until 2013. The Moda Center has a capacity of 19,393 when hosting basketball games and the Western Hockey League’s Portland Winterhawks split their home matches between this arena and the Blazers’ former home, the Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The arena has also hosted wrestling matches, BMX: Dirt and Freestyle Motocross and the U.S. Figure Skating Championships. When the arena isn’t being used for basketball and other sporting events, it hosts a number of different concerts from the likes of Post Malone, Bryan Adams, and Lana Del Ray.
