The New York Jets are a professional American football team in the National Football League (NFL) based in the New York metropolitan area. The Jets compete in the American Football Conference (AFC) East division along with the Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins. Rivalries outside of their division is with their stadium counterpart – The New York Giants. The team plays its home games at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, which is located 8 miles (13 km) outside of New York.
Metlife Stadium opened in 2010 as New Meadowlands Stadium. The stadium is open-air, with a capacity of 82,550. Besides the Jets, Metlife is the home to the Giants and has has hosted College Football games, Wrestlemania, Soccer games for International Soccer, and major concerts such as Bruce Springstein, Bon Jovi and AC/DC.
