The Detroit Lions are a professional American football team in the National Football League (NFL) based in Detroit, Michigan. The Lions compete in the National Football Conference (NFC) North division along with the Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, and Minnesota Vikings. The team plays its home games at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.
Ford Field opened in 2002. It is a domed stadium with a capacity of 65,000. Soldier Field has also hosted Super Bowl XL, numerous NCAA College Football games and bowls, NCAA basketball games including the NCAA tournament, College Hockey including the NCAA Frozen Four, International Soccer matches such as the CONCACAF Gold Cup, Wrestlemania, and major concerts such as U2, Guns N’ Roses and Beyonce.
Detroit’s food scene is growing every day, but there’s a few dishes you must try in the Motor City. For Square Pizza hit up Buddy’s Pizza, Niki’s Pizza, or Jet’s (even though it’s round). You must also taste some pierogi (Polish sautéed dumplings) at Polish Village Cafe.
