The Boston Bruins are a professional ice hockey team in the National Hockey League (NHL) based in Boston, Massachusetts. The Boston Bruins compete in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference along with Tampa Bay Lightning, Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens, Florida Panthers, Buffalo Sabres, Detroit Red Wings and Ottawa Senators. The Boston Bruins have a huge rivalry with the Montreal Canadiens which is considered one of the greatest rivalries in sport history, dating back to the 1950s.
The Boston Bruins play their home matches at the TD Garden in Boston, which opened in 1995. Previously they played at the Boston Garden (originally called the Boston Madison Square Garden) which has since been demolished. The TD Garden was built specifically as a replacement for the Boston Garden, and its previous names were the FleetCenter and the TD Banknorth Garden.
The TD Garden has a capacity of 17,565 for its ice hockey matches, and is also home to NBA’s Boston Celtics. The arena has also hosted boxing and UFC matches, as well as the Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastics Champions in 2016. There have been many concerts held here over the years including Shania Twain, Kings of Leon, and Pearl Jam, with upcoming dates for the likes of Carrie Underwood, Celine Dion, and Post Malone.
