The Buffalo Sabres are a professional ice hockey team in the National Hockey League (NHL) based in Buffalo, New York. The Buffalo Sabres compete in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference along with Detroit Red Wings, Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens, Tampa Bay Lightning, Florida Panthers, Boston Bruins, and Ottawa Senators. The Buffalo Sabres have a couple of rivalries, one with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and the other with the Boston Bruins.

The Buffalo Sabres play their home games at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, which opened in 1996. Its previous names have been the Marine Midland Arena, the HSBC Arena, and the First Niagara Center. It is the largest arena in Western New York with a capacity of 19,070 for its ice hockey matches. In the past the arena has hosted many wrestling matches for WCW and WWE, and there are many concerts held here including the likes of Shinedown, Phil Collins, and Post Malone. Before calling the KeyBank Center their home they played their matches at the Buffalo Memorial Auditorium for 26 years, which has since been demolished.

Buffalo is known for its roast beef and horseradish sandwiches (called a Beef on Weck), charcoal-grilled hot dogs and most importantly its aptly named Buffalo Wings. Crowd favorites include Bar-Bill Tavern, Duff’s Famous Wings, The Nine-Eleven Tavern & Mammosers Tavern and Restaurant among scores of others.
