The New Jersey Devils are an ice hockey team in the NHL (National Hockey League). They are based in Newark, New Jersey, and compete in the Metropolitan Division of the Eastern Conference along with Washington Capitals, Carolina Hurricanes, New York Islanders, Columbus Blue Jackets, Pittsburgh Penguins, Philadelphia Flyers, and New York Rangers. The New Jersey Devils have a rivalry with the New York Rangers, which is known as the Hudson River rivalry because of their home arena’s being less than ten miles across the river from each other. They also have a rivalry with the Philadelphia Flyers.

The New Jersey Devils play their home games at the Prudential Center in Newark, which opened in 2007. Before settling in New Jersey the team originated in Kansas and were known as the Kansas City Scouts in 1974, before moving to Colorado in 1976 and becoming the Colorado Rockies. It was in 1982 they became the New Jersey Devils and called the Brendan Byrne Arena (currently known as the Meadowlands Arena) their home for 25 years before moving to the Prudential Center.

The Prudential Center has a capacity of 16,514 for its ice hockey matches and is also home to the Seton Hall Pirates, a men’s basketball team from the Seton Hall University. The arena has also hosted many other sporting events such as boxing, MMA, wrestling, soccer, and gymnastics. It was also used to host the auditions for The X Factor in 2011. There are tons of concerts held at the arena including the likes of Heart, Juan Luis Guerra, and Hugh Jackman.
