The Dallas Stars are a professional ice hockey team in the National Hockey League (NHL) based in Dallas, Texas. The Dallas Stars compete in the Central Division of the Western Conference along with St. Louis Blues, Nashville Predators, Colorado Avalanche, Chicago Blackhawks, Minnesota Wild and Winnipeg Jets.
The Dallas Stars play their home games at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, which opened in 2001. Prior to that they called the Reunion Arena their home after moving from Minnesota where they were known as the Minnesota North Stars. They moved to Dallas in 1993 after merging with the Cleveland Barons.
The American Airlines Center has a capacity of up to 19,323 for its ice hockey games, and is also home to the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks. The arena has hosted many sporting events over the years including NBA finals, UFC and WWE matches, and the Built Ford Tough Series bull riding event. It has also been featured in TV shows including The Simpsons (as Dallas Arena), and The X Factor for its audition rounds. Concert goers can enjoy many performances at the arena from the likes of Eric Clapton, Phil Collins, Jonas Brothers, and The Who.
