The St. Louis Blues are an ice hockey team in the NHL (National Hockey League) based in St. Louis, Missouri. The St. Louis Blues compete in the Central Division of the Western Conference along with Colorado Avalanche, Nashville Predators, Dallas Stars, Chicago Blackhawks, Minnesota Wild and Winnipeg Jets. St. Louis Blues has an intense rivalry with the Chicago Blackhawks, which originated in 1970, and resulted in many brawls in the 1980s and 1990s, including the “St. Patrick’s Day Massacre”.
The St. Louis Blues play their home games at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, which opened in 1994. From 1967, when the team were established, to 1994 they played their home games at the St. Louis Arena, which has since been demolished. The Enterprise Center was originally called the Kiel Center, and has been renamed the Savvis Center and the Scottrade Center, before changing to its current name in 2018. The Enterprise Center has a capacity of 18,400 for its ice hockey matches, and was once the home for NPSL’s St. Louis Ambush, NCAA’s Saint Louis Billikens, AFL’s St. Louis Stampede, RHI’s St. Louis Vipers, MISL’s St. Louis Steamers, and NIFL’s River City Rage. The arena is used to host other sporting events such as basketball, boxing, MMA, and wrestling. There are plenty of concerts to see at the arena from the likes of Celine Dion, The Black Keys, Chris Brown, and The Lumineers.
